In 1996, the Pitt defense surrendered 430 points. Last year, the Panthers surrendered 458 points but managed an 8-5 record after scoring a team-high 532 points. Today, the #9 Oklahoma State Cowboys would shred Pitt 59-21 in a game in which the Pitt defense gave up 676 total yards at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.
